The pinback has red background with Smokey Bear's head and United States Forest Service hat and black & red lettering. The button is in good condition with some slight surface wear on the front. It is made of paper and measures appx. 9" x 11". It is paper stock which is appx. .010" thick as compared to regular blue-line which is appx. .003" thick. It reads as follows: "THE LAW REQUIRES.....That you put your fire COMPLETELY OUT before leaving it. Caution must be exercised in a stove of this type. Large quantities of water contacting the hot fireplace will damage it. Please apply water to the fire gradually, but of sufficient quantity to make sure it is out. DO NOT LEAVE ANY SMOLDERING COALS." At the bottom is a line for the signature of a Forest Ranger. The picture looks fuzzy but it is not. These have been stored in an old Forest Service building that an elderly couple bought decades ago. Very good to excellent unused condition. Please check out my other listings.
