1920-1938 Vtg Forest Service METAL Sign SALT GROUND NO._ Pacific Can Co.

This old Forest Service sign is made of metal/steel and measures 7" x 10". Reads "Salt Ground No. _____. It is not dated but the emblem is the official one used from 1920-1938 . Made by Pacific Can Co., Denver. It does show light wear, paint loss, etc. from being stacked in storage. Otherwise, very good condition. There are no tack/nail holes. This is stock that was left in an old FS building that was purchased decades ago by an elderly couple. Official 1980 U.S. Department of Agriculture fold-out map of Tongass National Forest, Alaska, printed more than 32 years ago. The map opens to 18" x 35" and locates motor roads, ferry routes, railroads, campgrounds, and other features in the nation's largest national forest, more than 16 million acres of rugged wilderness between Juneau and Ketchikan, Alaska. The map is drawn on a scale of 14 miles to one inch. It was published by the Forest Service, United States Department of Agriculture, and is the 1973 edition, revised in 1980, and printed in 1988.
